It comes as no surprise to me why colored leggings have made a popular comeback and I think they are here to stay for a little while. Indeed, they are fabulous trends meant to highlight a woman’s fashion presence and femininity. Anyone who is bold enough to wear green leggings can definitely look great in it for as long as they follow the basic rules on how to wear them. You can easily look fabulous with this color in an instant or look like Peter Pan clone if you don’t wear it right. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of this color but I wore them on rare occasions just to modify my wardrobe once in a while.
How to Look Your Best with Green Leggings
Follow these easy steps to wear your green leggings with style and flair:
- If you really need the urge to wear bright green leggings, then by all means, tone down the rest of your outfit, make it simple and monochromatic so that it won’t overwhelm the entire look. You can opt to wear black or gray over the green leggings.
- Do not go overboard with colors. This is quite similar to what I mentioned previously. I understand some people just want to express their fashion sense, but wearing a vibrant red with green leggings? Please, you will surely look Christmas-y, unless maybe you want to look apt for the holidays.
- Colored leggings are fun and appropriate to look on younger women but may not be suited to older audience. I don’t think women in their 40s who wear green leggings will be taken seriously.
- It’s safe to always match those shoes with your leggings. But if you can’t match them exactly at least choose a piece with similar shade. For example, you can wear black pumps with forest green leggings. The colors would flow naturally and can even give an impression of longer legs.
- Choose oversized tunics, minidresses and other gorgeous tops that can essentially cover your hips and rear end. Avoid overly tight tops as this will not harmonize well with the skin-fit leggings.
- Of course, never wear green leggings as pants. This applies to all leggings and tights. They’re not a form of pants but rather a piece of accessory to complete the outfit.
- You can accentuate the dark green color of your leggings by wearing a floral top. Purple also goes well with green leggings.
- Don’t ever wear any kind of socks with the leggings. It’s like going back to grade school.
- You can dress up your leggings by opting to wear high heel stilettos on formal occasions. This helps to improve your posture and it also elongates the legs. For casual dinners with family and friends, you can wear ballet flats or fancy thongs.
- I know that a lot of women love to experiment different varieties of leggings but please refrain from wearing those insane designs like those with holes or frayed fabrics during winter because this might lead to serious case of hypothermia.
